Hacker Friendly Worksite:

Funny and strange, a friend whose web site had recently been maliciously hacked and I were conversating over the fate of Tookie Williams. Tookie is one of the founding members of the Crips who resides on death row in Sam Quentin. (Imagine having your clemency determined under the domain of the Terminator?, God bless America for the many farcical situations it presents). Tookie became over the course of his 2 decades + on death row a self educated man and eloquent speaker who turned his attention to teaching kids against the gang life. He won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in trying to save the kids from the gang.
After the conversation I start thinking about gangs and the glorification of gangs versus the reality. I know somebody related to Tookie, thus making somewhat him real and less "character" in the news. Think about movies like Colors and Scarface and the whole slew of gangster movies evolving out of Compton style hip hop. Belly and the like.
I google bloods and crips. Funny I never thought of either gang actually having a website, but they each do. Check out bloodsdotcom. It's been hacked and the effect is extraordinary. Each click brings you to a poem of self worth and self preservation, about being an educated leader rather than an uneducated follower. There are some truly hokey images accompanying the poems, but hell an effectively good job all around.
Good work brave soldier.
